Shortlist this ViewBoard for a lecture theatre, an assembly hall or a boardroom where the panel is the room's main system rather than an occasional whiteboard. The 2158.85 x 1214.35 mm active area at 3840 x 2160 puts text at roughly twice the physical height of a 55-inch panel, and 16GB of RAM gives more headroom for a panel running several apps and a casting session at once. At 83.7 kg net and 2219.6 mm wide, plan the delivery and the mount before you plan the software.

Who is the ViewSonic IFP9851 best suited to?
Consider it for a lecture theatre, assembly hall or boardroom where the display is the room's main system and the furthest seats are 8 metres or more away. Below that distance an 86-inch panel usually reads well enough and installs more easily.
How much RAM and storage does the ViewSonic IFP9851 have?
16GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, on an octa-core processor, as listed in ViewSonic's specification table for this model. That is twice the memory of the 86-inch IFP8651-3C in the same range.
How many touch points does the IFP9851 support?
50 points, using ViewSonic's Ultra Fine Touch infrared layer with palm rejection. A pen sensor also starts annotation when a pen is lifted to the screen, so there is no app to open first.
Can I connect a laptop with USB-C?
Yes. The front USB-C port carries DisplayPort 1.2 video, data and up to 65W of power delivery. Your laptop and cable must support those functions, and a laptop drawing more than 65W may still need its own charger. The rear and top USB-C ports deliver 15W each.
What does EDLA certification mean for this display?
EDLA certification means Google's own services and the Play Store are licensed on the Android device rather than side-loaded, so managed accounts and device-management policies behave as IT expects. Certification alone does not confirm compatibility with every school or corporate policy, so ask your IT team to check account, app and MDM requirements first.
Which version of Android does the IFP9851 run?
Android 14, EDLA-certified, as listed on ViewSonic's page for this model. EDLA panels receive Google-licensed updates in service, so a delivered unit can be on a later build than the one it shipped with; confirm the version with us if a specific build matters to your deployment.
Is a 98-inch display sharper than a smaller one?
No. It is 3840 x 2160, the same resolution as the 65-inch and 86-inch models in this range, spread over more area. Content appears physically larger, which is what helps at the back of a hall; it does not carry more detail.
Does it need a separate soundbar or conference microphone?
For speech, usually not. ViewSonic rates the 2.1-channel system at 70W in normal use, from two 25W front drivers and a 20W subwoofer, and quotes 80W as the maximum, with a built-in 8-microphone array. A hall with difficult acoustics or one used for music may still justify separate audio.
Does it include a Windows PC or a video-call camera?
No. Treat both as separate requirements. ViewSonic lists slot-in PCs and cameras as optional accessories and ships the OPS slot empty; a camera plate is supplied in the box but not a camera. Ask for a quote that identifies the PC, camera and mounting hardware you need.
How does the IFP9851 compare with the IFP8651-3C?
ViewSonic lists both at 3840 x 2160, 500 nits, 50 touch points and 65W front USB-C charging. The IFP9851 is the 98-inch model with 16GB of RAM against 8GB on the 86-inch IFP8651-3C, and it weighs 83.7 kg against 58.46 kg, so installation is a bigger job. Choose 98 inches only if the viewing distance needs it.
