Is the iiyama TN6505A-B1AG right for your meeting room?
For IT teams that will not put a vendor operating system on their network.
Shortlist the TN6505A where the display has to be a display and nothing else. There is no vendor system on the panel to enrol, patch or give a network account to, so the only software in the room is software you already approve: an Intel OPS80 module in the rear slot, or an external PC on HDMI, DisplayPort or USB-C. That suits banks, courts, defence, healthcare, central government and corporate IT, where a screen that reaches the internet on its own is a procurement problem rather than a feature. At 65 inches it suits a standard meeting room; check the furthest seat against the smallest text you use before ruling out the 75-inch model.
Reasons to shortlist it
- There is no operating system on the panel, so nothing on it has to be patched, enrolled, licensed or given a network account. The compute is whatever your IT team approves: an Intel OPS80 module in the rear slot, or an external PC on HDMI, DisplayPort or USB-C.
- One USB-C cable carries DisplayPort video, touch data and 65W of charge to a laptop, and two HDMI inputs with CEC/ARC, DisplayPort and a VGA input sit alongside it for fixed and older sources.

Check before you choose
- Nothing runs until you supply a source. Budget for the Intel OPS module or the PC that will drive the panel, its licence and its own support, and decide which of your standard images goes on it.
- 65 inches suits a standard meeting room. For a boardroom, a deep training room or a lecture space, compare viewing distances against the 75-inch and 86-inch models first, and plan for a 41.1 kg panel that is a two-person lift at minimum.
- Touch arrives over USB as HID, and iiyama qualifies the 40-point figure as applying only with a supported operating system. Confirm the touch driver and the usable point count against the exact Windows or Linux build your organisation runs before rollout.

Who is the iiyama ProLite TN6505A best suited to?
Consider it for a meeting room, a boardroom, a control room or a training space in an organisation that controls what runs on its own hardware. It is aimed at IT, security and compliance teams who want a touch screen without a vendor system attached to it. At 65 inches it suits a standard room, so check the furthest seat against the smallest text you use before you settle on the size.
Does the TN6505A need a computer to work?
Yes, and that is deliberate. iiyama lists the integrated software for this range as no operating system, so the panel shows and responds to whatever source you connect. That source is either an Intel OPS80 module fitted in the rear slot or an external PC on HDMI, DisplayPort or USB-C. The panel will show a connected source and pass touch back to it out of the box, but it runs no apps of its own.
Why would I want a display with no operating system?
Because it removes a managed device from the wall. There is no vendor account to create, no app store to police, no firmware platform to keep patched and nothing on the panel asking for outbound network access. The security review covers the PC or OPS module you already own and already patch. That is why this range is bought by banks, courts, defence and public-sector IT rather than by classrooms.
Can I connect a laptop with a single USB-C cable?
Yes. The USB-C port carries DisplayPort video, touch data and up to 65W of power delivery, so one cable drives the panel, returns touch to the laptop and charges it. Your laptop and your cable both have to support DisplayPort over USB-C, and a laptop that needs more than 65W will still want its own charger.
How many people can write on it at once?
iiyama lists 40 touch points for this model, qualified as HID and only with a supported operating system, with palm rejection and plus or minus 1mm accuracy. In practice the usable number depends on the machine you connect and its touch driver, so confirm it against your own Windows or Linux build if a particular number of simultaneous users matters.
Can the panel be controlled from a room control system?
Yes. There is an RS-232 input and an RS-232 output, two RJ45 ports wired as LAN in and LAN out, and an IR loop through, so a control processor can drive the display and daisy chain commands to the next one. iiyama publishes an RS-232 and LAN command list for the TN05 range, which is linked in the documents on this page.
What is in the box?
Four styluses, a webcam bracket, a wall mount, a 3 m HDMI cable, a 3 m USB cable and the power cable. There is no PC, no OPS module and no camera: the bracket is there to take a camera you supply. Ask for a quote that names the OPS module or camera you want rather than assuming either is included.
What audio is built in, and do I need a soundbar?
Two 20W speakers with a 20W subwoofer are built in, with a 3.5 mm audio input and a mini jack output if you want to feed a room system. For a standard meeting room that is usually enough on its own; a large or acoustically difficult room may still want a separate system.
How long can it run each day?
iiyama gives a maximum non-stop operating time of 16/7 for this panel and recommends not exceeding 16 hours a day to protect its life. That covers a working day in a meeting room or a reception with room to spare, but it is not the specification for a screen that is meant to stay on around the clock.
Should I choose the 65-inch TN6505A or the 75-inch TN7505A?
Choose by viewing distance and the smallest text people have to read, not by room capacity alone. Both share the same 4K resolution, the same DeepContrast-IR+ touch, the same 65W USB-C connection, the same audio and the same absence of an operating system, so the larger panel adds size rather than capability. The 75-inch model is heavier and draws more power, so check the wall, the access route and the sightline together.
