TopAV buying advice

Is the iiyama TF6539AS-B1AG right for your retail space?

For a large interactive surface people walk up to from any angle.

Shortlist the TF6539AS-B1AG for a browse point on a shop floor, a large wayfinding board, a shop-window installation or a shared interactive table where people arrive from the side rather than standing square to the screen. It is an open-frame design meant to be built into a totem, a counter or a housing. The IPS panel is the reason to pick this size over the 50-inch in the same family, and the reason not to if deep blacks in a dim space matter more than viewing angle. At 53.7kg it is a planned lift, not a carry-in.

Reasons to shortlist it

  • Forty touch points through bonded PCAP glass, registered from a finger, a stylus or a latex-gloved hand with palm rejection on, so a wide surface can take several people using it together and gloved staff are not locked out.
  • Touch is rated through up to 6mm of glass, so the display can sit behind a shop window or a protective panel and still respond to a finger on the outside. That is the specification to check if the screen will never be touched directly.
  • The front face is rated IP65 against dust and water ingress on 7H hardness AG-coated glass with a matte finish, which is what a public-facing screen needs when it is cleaned daily and handled by strangers.
  • It mounts landscape, portrait or face-up, and carrying handles are fitted, so it works recessed into a counter or a table as well as stood upright, and a 53.7kg chassis can be manoeuvred into a housing without improvised straps.
  • Android 11 runs on the display with iiSignage2 content management, EShare and FailOver on 4GB of memory and 32GB of storage, rated for 24/7 non-stop operation with a 50,000 hour MTBF figure, so a kiosk runs unattended without a separate media player.

Check before you choose

  • The IPS panel is rated at 1200:1 static contrast against 5000:1 on the 50-inch VA model in the same family. IPS buys a wider usable viewing angle and pays for it in black level, so in a dim foyer or an evening shop window dark content will look flatter here than on the smaller size.
  • The IP65 rating covers the front face only. The rear, the connections and any cut-out around them still need a housing that keeps out dust and water, and an enclosure has to carry away the heat from a 183W typical draw, so a sealed box needs ventilation designed in.
  • At 53.7kg unboxed and 65kg boxed, measuring 1495 x 870 x 66mm, this is a planned multi-person install. Check the access route, the lifting method and the load rating of the totem or wall before the delivery date, not on it.

See the 65" on your wall, to scale

On a phone, point your camera at the wall and see the 65" there at its real size. On a computer, upload a photo of the wall (or scan the QR code to take one with your phone and it will appear here) and drag the display around it to scale.

Not sure 65" is the right size for the room? The screen size calculator shows how far a 65" display carries for presentations, touch work and video.

What to plan before installing the TF6539AS-B1AG

01

Position & sightlines

Decide whether people touch the glass directly or through a window or protective panel, and check the approach angles. If it is going behind glass, confirm the panel thickness is within the 6mm the touch layer is rated for, and measure the light falling on the position.

02

Housing & mounting

Plan the enclosure or totem around a 1495 x 870 x 66mm open-frame chassis weighing 53.7kg, with handles fitted. The mounting pattern is in the specification table. Allow ventilation for a 183W typical draw and keep the rear connections reachable for service. iiyama lists a 400 x 400 mm VESA pattern.

03

Content & installation

Decide whether the content runs on the built-in Android system with iiSignage2 or on an external player over HDMI or DisplayPort, and confirm network access with your IT team. Tell us if you want the mounting, the enclosure or the installation quoted alongside the display.

Display price is for the panel. Installation and optional equipment are quoted separately. Purchase-order terms are available to approved education customers.

Build a quote you can compare

Include these details in your project enquiry so the quote covers the room as well as the screen.

  • Number of displays, site postcode and required date.
  • Furthest viewing distance and available wall space.
  • Wall type, fixed mount or adjustable trolley, and cable routes.
  • Laptop model, teaching apps, and any camera or Windows PC needs.

Ask for separate equipment, delivery, installation and licence costs, with a total including VAT. Confirm warranty coverage and any registration requirements before placing the order.

iiyama TF6539AS-B1AG questions answered

Who is the iiyama ProLite TF6539AS-B1AG best suited to?

Consider it for a shop-floor browse point, a large wayfinding board, a shop-window installation or a shared interactive table. It is an open-frame display built to be integrated into a housing rather than hung on a wall as a finished product, and the sealed front, gloved-hand touch and through-glass sensing are aimed squarely at public use.

Why is this model IPS when the 50-inch is VA?

They are different panels with a real trade-off between them. This 65-inch model uses IPS, rated at 1200:1 static contrast, which holds colour and detail as people approach from the side. The 50-inch TF5039AS-B1AG uses VA, rated at 5000:1, which gives deeper blacks when the viewer is roughly square to the screen. Pick by how people reach the display and how dark the room is, not by assuming the larger model is the better panel.

Can it be used behind a shop window?

Yes. iiyama rates the touch layer to work through up to 6mm of glass, so a finger on the outside of a window or a protective panel registers on the display behind it. Confirm the actual thickness of your glazing first, because touch response is specified up to that figure and not beyond it.

What does the IP65 rating actually cover?

The front face only. That is enough for dust, splashes and daily cleaning on the side the public touches, but the rear of the chassis, the cable entries and the connections are not sealed. If the display sits outdoors or in a wash-down area, the housing has to provide that protection and move the heat at the same time.

Does it work with gloves?

Yes. iiyama lists stylus, finger and latex-gloved hand as supported touch methods, with palm rejection on. That matters in a warehouse, a kitchen, a clinical area or a cold store where staff will not take gloves off to use a screen.

How many people can use it at once?

The bonded PCAP layer supports 40 simultaneous touch points, so a 65-inch interactive surface can take several people working on it together. That is double the count on iiyama's all-in-one T29 meeting-room models, and is the figure to check if the screen is a shared table-top or a multi-user browse point.

Can it be mounted face-up?

Yes. iiyama lists landscape, portrait and face-up orientation for this model, so it can be recessed into a counter or a table as well as stood upright in a totem. Face-up positions collect dust and spilled liquid on the glass, so plan the cleaning routine and the drainage around it even with an IP65 front, and remember the chassis is 53.7kg to lift into place.

Does it need a separate media player?

No. Android 11 is built in with 4GB of memory, 32GB of storage, iiSignage2 content management, EShare wireless sharing and FailOver input recovery, so a schedule runs on the display itself. Two HDMI 2.0 inputs and a DisplayPort 1.2 input are there if you would rather drive it from an external player or a PC, and the two USB Type A ports are USB 2.0.

How heavy is it and what does integration involve?

The chassis is 53.7kg without its box and 65kg boxed, measuring 1495 x 870 x 66mm, with handles fitted for the lift. As an open-frame product it is designed to be built into a housing, so the enclosure has to carry that weight, hold the mounting pattern shown in the specification table and ventilate a 183W typical draw.

Can it be locked down for unattended public use?

Yes. iiyama lists a kiosk mode on this model, alongside FailOver input recovery that switches and restores the source on its own when a signal drops, and iiSignage2 for scheduling and controlling the content remotely. Between them an unattended screen can be pointed at one application and brought back on its own rather than needing someone to walk over to it.
