TopAV buying advice
Is the iiyama TF3215MC-B2AG right for your reception?
For a kiosk or self-service enclosure you are building around it, driven by your own player.
The TF3215MC is a display, not a device. There is no operating system inside it, so it shows what a PC, a player or a kiosk controller sends to its HDMI or DisplayPort input, and touch returns to that machine over USB. That is exactly what you want when the software is already chosen and the screen has to disappear into a joinery front or a metal enclosure. Its case is the reason to pick it over an ordinary monitor: the front is sealed to IP65 against cleaning fluid and spilled drinks, the glass is anti-glare, and touch reads through a cover panel so the finished unit can be built with its own fascia.
Reasons to shortlist it
- The front is rated IP65 against dust and water, which is the specification that lets an unattended screen be wiped down with cleaning fluid or survive a spilled drink in a public area.
- Touch Through-Glass means the projective capacitive layer reads a finger through a cover panel, so the display can sit behind the joinery or the fascia of your own enclosure rather than being the exposed surface itself.
- Thirty touch points with a supported operating system, worked with a finger, a latex glove or a capacitive stylus, which is well beyond what a single-user kiosk needs and leaves room for a multi-user table or a gloved industrial position.
- Anti-glare coated VA glass at 425 cd/m2 with the touch layer fitted and 3000:1 static contrast, with 6H glass hardness, so it stays readable in a bright foyer and stands up to public handling.
- Rated for 24/7 non-stop operation with a 50,000 hour MTBF figure, drawing 32W typical, and installable in landscape or portrait to suit the enclosure.
Check before you choose
- This is an open frame monitor with no operating system, no network port and no speakers in its specification. Budget for the player or PC, its mounting, and any audio, camera or card reader the application needs.
- It will not run a booking or signage app on its own, and it cannot be powered over a network cable the way the TW panel PCs can. It needs a mains supply and a video source at the position.
- The 30 touch points depend on the connected operating system supporting them, and open frame units are designed to be integrated rather than hung on a wall. Confirm the enclosure design, the cover panel thickness and the driver support with whoever is building the unit before ordering.
See the 31.5" on your wall, to scale
On a phone, point your camera at the wall and see the 31.5" there at its real size. On a computer, upload a photo of the wall (or scan the QR code to take one with your phone and it will appear here) and drag the display around it to scale.

What to plan before installing the TF3215MC-B2AG
01
Enclosure & cover panel
Decide first whether the glass is the exposed surface or sits behind a fascia. Touch reads through a cover panel, but the panel thickness and material have to be agreed with the fabricator, as does access for service.
02
Source & power
Choose the player or PC that will drive it, and plan a mains supply and a video run to the position. It takes HDMI or DisplayPort for video with USB for the touch return, so both cables reach the machine. iiyama lists a 200 x 200 mm VESA pattern.
03
Install & orientation
Confirm landscape or portrait, the mounting pattern shown in the specification table, and who is responsible for the frame. Tell us if you want the display, the mount and the installation quoted together.
Display price is for the panel. Installation and optional equipment are quoted separately. Purchase-order terms are available to approved education customers.
Build a quote you can compare
Include these details in your project enquiry so the quote covers the room as well as the screen.
- Number of displays, site postcode and required date.
- Furthest viewing distance and available wall space.
- Wall type, fixed mount or adjustable trolley, and cable routes.
- Laptop model, teaching apps, and any camera or Windows PC needs.
Ask for separate equipment, delivery, installation and licence costs, with a total including VAT. Confirm warranty coverage and any registration requirements before placing the order.

iiyama TF3215MC-B2AG questions answered
Who is the iiyama ProLite TF3215MC-B2AG best suited to?
Consider it for a self-service kiosk, a ticketing or check-in position, a retail information point or an industrial terminal that someone is building an enclosure for. It is bought by integrators and by anyone specifying a screen to go behind their own fascia, not as a monitor for a desk.
Does it work on its own, without a computer?
No. There is no operating system, no media player and no network port in its specification, so it has to be driven by a PC, a player or a kiosk controller connected to its HDMI or DisplayPort input, with USB carrying touch back to that machine. If you want a screen that runs the app itself, look at the TW panel PC range instead.
What does the IP65 rating actually cover?
The front of the unit. That is the surface a member of the public touches and that a cleaner wipes down, so an IP65 front means cleaning fluid and a knocked-over drink are not a fault condition. The rear and the electronics are inside your enclosure, which is where the rest of the ingress protection has to come from.
Can it be fitted behind a cover panel or a glass fascia?
Yes. iiyama lists Touch Through-Glass for this model, which means the projective capacitive layer registers a finger through a cover panel rather than needing direct contact with the display glass. The thickness and material of that panel affect touch performance, so agree them with your fabricator and test the combination before the design is signed off.
How many touch points does it support?
Thirty, as a HID device, and only where the connected operating system supports that many. The touch method is listed as finger, latex glove or capacitive stylus. Because the count depends on the host machine, confirm what your chosen player or PC and its driver actually expose.
What is the difference between this and the plain TF3215MC-B2?
The AG in the part number is the anti-glare coating, and that is the reason to choose this version. The coating cuts reflection in a bright foyer or a window position. Order the exact part number you want, because the two are otherwise easy to confuse on a purchase order.
Is it bright enough for a window or a sunlit foyer?
It is rated at 425 cd/m2 with the touch layer fitted, with anti-glare coated glass and 3000:1 static contrast. That handles a bright reception or a well-lit retail floor. A screen in direct sunlight or in a south-facing shop window is a higher-brightness specification, so tell us the position and we will say whether this is the right one.
Does it have speakers?
No speakers are listed for this model, and there is no network port either. If the application needs sound, plan it as part of the enclosure with the player driving an external amplifier or active speakers, and allow for the cable run when the unit is designed.
Can it run continuously in a public space?
It is rated for 24/7 non-stop operation with a 50,000 hour MTBF figure and draws 32W typical, with 1.5W in standby. Its glass is rated at 6H hardness. Those are the figures to check against a consumer monitor, which is neither built nor rated for an unattended screen touched all day.
Can TopAV quote the mount and installation with it?
Yes. Send us the enclosure drawing or the position details and we will quote the display with the mounting and installation priced separately, so you can see each cost. Tell us the player or PC you intend to use as well, since the video and USB runs have to reach it.
