The VPK312K1 is the large-button variant of ATEN's network remote pad, supplied with 29 engraved buttons so that the many functions of a VP2730 presentation matrix switch can be reached directly rather than through menus. ATEN documents it on the VPK312 product page as the 29-button option for multiple-function control with the VP2730.

Like the rest of the range it is a network device rather than a contact-closure keypad: it pairs with the host presentation switch through that switch's web console, and the key functions and layout are then configured from the browser. That means the same physical pad can be re-purposed if the room's requirements change, without rewiring.

It is a faceplate-mounted module intended for a wall box beside the lectern or at the room entrance, and it is firmware upgradeable.
