Description

The VIGI NVR2008H-8MP is an eight-channel recorder with the PoE+ switch built in, so eight cameras connect straight to the back of the unit and take power from it. The total budget is 90 W with up to 30 W available on any single port, which is enough headroom for 802.3at cameras such as the InSight S345S or S485PI rather than only the low-draw models.

Decoding is rated at four channels of 8MP, six of 5MP or eight of 4MP at 30 fps, and incoming and outgoing bandwidth are both 160 Mbps. Two SATA bays take up to 16 TB each for a maximum of 32 TB, and HDMI output runs to 3840 x 2160 at 30 Hz with a simultaneous or independent VGA output at 1920 x 1080.

A gigabit uplink port connects the recorder to the site LAN separately from the camera network, which keeps camera traffic off the business network. There is a USB 2.0 port at the front for exporting evidence and a USB 3.0 port at the rear. The chassis is 330 x 285 x 45 mm and weighs 2.1 kg net, running from a 53.5 V DC 2.43 A adapter at around 40 W with a disk fitted.
