Sony FWD-85X80L 85-inch BRAVIA X80L 4K HDR Professional Display

The FWD-85X80L is Sony's 85-inch (84.6" viewable) BRAVIA X80L in professional trim. It is the commercial version of a consumer BRAVIA panel: same 3840 x 2160 direct-LED screen and Google TV platform, but supplied through Sony's professional channel with three years of PrimeSupport attached.

That combination suits places where a display has to look like a television and behave like an installed asset - hotel public areas, waiting rooms, common rooms, staff areas, boardrooms that also show broadcast. The built-in terrestrial, cable and satellite tuners mean live channels do not need a separate set-top box, and Google TV covers streaming and casting. HDR support runs to HDR10, HLG and Dolby Vision, with object-based HDR remaster and a dynamic contrast enhancer doing the picture work.

Connectivity is four HDMI inputs, two USB ports, wired Ethernet and integrated wireless LAN, all on the side of the panel. The screen mounts on a 400 x 400 mm VESA pattern and draws 0.5 W in standby. Note that the X80L is a tuner display rather than a 24/7 signage panel - for continuous digital signage duty Sony's FW-series BZ displays are the right family.
