Description
The ELPDC30 is the 4K generation of Epson's desktop visualiser range. A 13-megapixel 1/3.2-inch sensor reads 4208 x 3120 and outputs up to 4K UHD at 60fps, which is the practical difference between a legible photocopy and a legible footnote when the class is looking at a 100-inch image.
It is the first of the range built to run wirelessly. Built-in 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi and Miracast let it throw to a compatible Epson projector or display without a cable across the room, while HDMI in and HDMI out keep the wired path available and allow a laptop to be looped through. Video capture and replay, split screen and a wide-angle macro mode are handled on the unit itself.
Optically it carries 10x optical plus 23x digital zoom with autofocus over the same A3 shooting area as the rest of the range, and the arm folds to 362 x 159 x 85mm. At 2.8kg it is still a desk-to-desk unit rather than a fixed install, and a microscope adapter is supplied in the box.
