Description

The ELPDC21 is Epson's full-size desktop visualiser, built to put a physical object, worksheet or specimen on the big screen without a laptop in the chain. A 1/2.7-inch CMOS sensor captures 1920 x 1080 at up to 30fps across an A3 shooting area, so a full spread of A4 pages or a hardback textbook fits the frame without repositioning.

Optics do most of the work: 12x optical zoom backed by a further 10x digital zoom lets you pull in on fine detail, and autofocus keeps the subject sharp as the arm is moved. A supplied microscope adapter turns the camera into a live microscope feed, and the built-in LED lamp handles rooms where the ceiling lighting is poor.

Connection is deliberately simple. HDMI and VGA outputs feed a projector or display directly, VGA in lets a connected PC pass through the same cable run, and an SD/SDHC slot plus the PC-free image viewer means captured stills can be shown back with no computer attached at all. It folds to 367 x 122 x 120mm and weighs 2.6kg.

12x optical zoom with autofocus

A true optical zoom rather than a digital crop, so detail stays sharp when you pull in on a small object; autofocus re-acquires the subject as the arm moves.

A3 shooting area

Covers a 297 x 420mm field, wide enough for a full A3 sheet or an open textbook without repositioning the camera head.

Microscope adapter included

A supplied adapter couples the camera to a standard microscope eyepiece so a slide can be shown live to the whole room.

Works without a PC

HDMI and VGA outputs drive a projector directly, and the built-in image viewer replays stills from an SD/SDHC card with no computer connected.
