Description
The VanCryst VM5808H connects any of eight HDMI sources to any of eight HDMI displays and holds the picture steady while it does so. ATEN's FPGA-based Seamless Switch design normalises the video formats crossing the switch, giving continuous streams and real-time switching rather than the blank interval a raw HDMI switch produces.
A scaler on board converts input resolutions to whatever each display prefers, and video wall layouts can be assembled in the web GUI. EDID Expert selects sensible EDID settings so that sources come up at the right resolution on first power-on. Runs of up to 15 m are supported on the output side using 24 AWG cable.
The unit can be driven from front-panel pushbuttons, an IR remote, RS-232, or over Ethernet by Telnet and the web GUI, and it also appears in the ATEN Video Matrix Control app. It is a metal desktop or rack-mount chassis rated for operation up to 50 degrees C.
