Is Your Projector Not Bright Enough?

Review your room lighting, image size and projector requirements before choosing a replacement.

Find a brighter projector

Start with the room

Check room conditions and the existing projector before deciding to replace it.

Before you choose

  1. 01

Check the selected picture and power modes, lamp hours where applicable, and maintenance guidance in the manufacturer's manual. A dim picture does not always mean you need a new projector.

  2. 02

Reduce light falling directly on the screen where practical. Increasing picture size spreads the available light across a larger area.

  3. 03

Compare brightness only using compatible measurement standards and verified specifications. Check the proposed image size, room conditions and throw ratio alongside lumens.

Your questions answered

Will more lumens solve a washed-out image?

Higher measured light output may help, but ambient light, screen surface, image size and settings also affect visibility. Ask for advice using the actual room conditions.

Should I replace the lamp or the projector?

Check the model's maintenance guidance, lamp condition and replacement cost. A laser projector has different maintenance requirements; do not assume a lamp replacement applies.

What information should I send for advice?

Include the existing model, screen size, lens-to-screen distance, room lighting and the content you show. We cannot confirm that an alternative is brighter without comparable specifications.
