Description

The InSight S285 is the 8MP member of TP-Link's vandal-resistant dome line. At 3840 x 2160 it gives roughly twice the pixel count of the 4MP S245 on the same footprint, which is the practical difference between recognising that someone is at a door and being able to identify them from the recording.

The 2.8 mm F1.6 lens covers 110 degrees horizontally on a 1/2.7-inch progressive-scan CMOS sensor. Both the infrared and white LED illuminators reach 30 m, minimum illumination is 0.005 lux and 0 lux with either running, and 120 dB wide dynamic range copes with backlit entrances.

The housing is IK10 impact rated and IP67 sealed, rated -30 to 60 degrees C. Power comes from 802.3af/at PoE at up to 12.3 W over the same Cat5e run as the video, or from a 12 V DC supply. Two-way audio uses a built-in microphone with a 5 m pickup radius and an integrated speaker, and the microSD slot takes cards up to 512 GB.
