For smaller classrooms and training rooms that want a walk-up-and-teach board.
Shortlist the 65-inch GX Plus for a small classroom, a group room or a training space where a teacher should be able to walk up, sign in and start the lesson from the board itself rather than from a wheeled computer. The embedded Android 14 system carries the Google Play Store, so a school installs the apps it already licenses, and the front USB-C, HDMI and USB-A ports mean a visiting laptop still connects in one move. The panel is rated at 400 cd/m2, which suits a room where blinds or lighting can be controlled rather than a glazed atrium. Size is the thing to settle first: this is the smallest GX Plus, and it shares the same 3840 x 2160 panel, ports and touch system as the 75-inch model, so a standard-sized classroom with rows at the back usually reads better on 75 inches.

- The embedded Android 14 system is Google Play Protect Certified and carries the Google Play Store, so a school installs the apps it already licenses and runs lessons without adding an external PC.

- One front USB-C cable carries 4K at 60Hz video, touch, digital audio and up to 65W of power delivery to a teacher's laptop, and a second USB-C at the rear supplies up to 15W for a camera or other accessory.
- Two integrated 20W speakers, three HDMI 2.1 inputs (one front, two rear) and a rear OPS slot rated at 90W cover lesson audio, several sources and an optional Windows module without extra boxes on the wall.

Check before you choose
- 65 inches is the smallest panel in the GX Plus range. It suits a small classroom, a group room or a training space; in a standard classroom with rows at the back, or a wide room, check viewing distances against the 75-inch GX175G-V4 before ordering. The trade the other way is weight and power: this size is about 36 kg and draws 81W typical against 90W on the 75-inch model.
- The box holds the display, two pens, a remote control, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth antennas and cables, not a PC. Budget separately for the mount, installation, any OPS Windows module and a camera. SMART lists no built-in microphone on this series, so video calls need a separate microphone or room system.
- Object Awareness and simultaneous tool differentiation require a connected computer running SMART Product Drivers, and SMART supports them in SMART Notebook and SMART Ink. Confirm with your IT team which machines will carry the drivers, and agree Google account policies and app licences, before rollout.

Measure the longest viewing distance and the smallest text pupils need to read before settling on 65 inches, and allow space for them to reach the lower part of the glass.

The 65-inch panel weighs about 36 kg and arrives at about 45.8 kg packed, so check wall construction, the delivery route, mounting height, a 100V to 240V supply and data. Leave room around the display for ventilation, and consider a height-adjustable mount so younger pupils can reach the writing area. SMART lists a 600 x 400 mm (M8) VESA pattern.

Who is the SMART Board GX065-V4 Plus best suited to?
Consider it for a small classroom, a group room or a training space that wants a board a teacher can use straight away without a separate computer, at a lower cost than SMART's flagship ranges. Check that text is readable from the furthest seat first; a standard classroom with rows at the back usually needs the 75-inch model.
Does the GX Plus need a computer to work?
No. The Android system is embedded in the display, with a digital whiteboard, web browser, screen sharing, an app library and the Google Play Store, so it runs lessons on its own. A laptop connects over USB-C or HDMI when a teacher wants their own files, and a SMART OPS PC module can be fitted in the rear slot for a fixed Windows machine.
Which version of Android does it run?
Android 14.0, listed by SMART as forward compatible, on an octa-core 64-bit processor with over-the-air updates. Confirm the version installed on your delivery with us if a particular app or management policy depends on it.
Does it include the Google Play Store?
Yes. SMART lists the embedded operating system as Google Play Protect Certified with the Google Play Store, and the order description for this model reads 'interactive display with embedded OS (GMS)', meaning Google Mobile Services are included. That lets a school install and sign in to the Google apps it already uses.
Can I connect a laptop with a single USB-C cable?
Yes. The front USB-C port carries 4K at 60Hz video over DisplayPort alternate mode, touch data, digital audio and up to 65W of power delivery, so one cable connects and charges most laptops. Your laptop and cable must support DisplayPort over USB-C, and a laptop needing more than 65W may still need its own charger. A 1.8 m USB-C cable is supplied.
How many people can use the GX065-V4 Plus at once?
SMART lists up to 50 touch points, depending on the operating system in use, on an advanced infrared touch system. Two pens are supplied with magnetic frame-mounted holders, though the 65-inch width gives fewer pupils room to work side by side than the 75-inch or 86-inch panels.
Does it have a built-in microphone or camera?
No. SMART's specification for this series lists two integrated 20W speakers but no microphone and no camera, so a room used for video calls needs a separate microphone, camera or all-in-one bar. The rear USB-C port supplies up to 15W and the USB-A ports can carry a camera you add.
How much does the 65-inch model weigh?
About 36 kg for the display itself and about 45.8 kg packed for delivery, on SMART's figures. That is the lightest size in the GX Plus range, but it still needs two people and a mount rated for the load, so confirm wall construction before installation day.
How much memory and storage does it have?
8 GB of DDR4 memory and 64 GB of storage, expandable to 576 GB with a microSD card in the rear slot, as listed on SMART's specification sheet.
Should I choose the 65-inch GX065-V4 Plus or the 75-inch GX075-V4 Plus?
Choose by viewing distance and the smallest text people need to read, not by room capacity alone. Both share the same 3840 x 2160 resolution, 400 cd/m2 brightness, touch system and ports, so the 75-inch panel adds reach rather than detail, while this size is lighter to mount and draws 81W typical against 90W. One difference worth noting: SMART lists its TUV Low Blue Light certification for the 75-inch size only.
