Description

The e 835-S is the e 835 with a silent on/off switch fitted. That switch is the whole reason to choose this version: in houses of worship, conference rooms and roving-microphone situations, being able to mute at the microphone rather than at the desk is worth more than the small extra cost.

Everything else follows the e 835. The cardioid pattern holds its shape as the performer moves off axis, a gentle presence boost keeps the voice clear and projected, and minimal proximity effect means the low end does not balloon when someone works in close. A hum compensating coil and internal isolation deal with handling noise and electrical interference.

It is a dynamic microphone, so no phantom power is needed, and it terminates in a standard 3-pin XLR. Sennheiser's standard warranty is two years.
