Description

The VM5808HA routes any of eight HDMI sources to any of eight HDMI outputs, with an additional array-mode output for driving a preview or overflow display. ATEN's FPGA-based Seamless Switch technology unifies the video formats passing through the unit so that switching happens without the black frames and re-sync delays that interrupt a live presentation.

A built-in scaler converts every incoming signal to the native resolution of the display it is sent to, and FrameSync locks the scaler output frame rate to the input frame rate so that video walls stay tear-free. EDID Expert offers Default, Port 1, Remix and Customized modes, so mixed estates of screens can be persuaded to agree on a resolution. Stereo audio from any HDMI input can be de-embedded to the mini-jack output for a local sound system.

Operators can drive the unit from the front-panel pushbuttons, over RS-232, or across the network by Telnet or the built-in web GUI, and the switch can be folded into a wider ATEN Control System installation. The chassis is metal and rack-mountable, drawing around 57 W in normal use.
