Description

The AS104 is ATEN's smallest ceiling loudspeaker, supplied in pairs. A 4-inch paper-cone driver with a rubber surround and a heavy-duty voice coil is paired coaxially with a 20 mm PEI dome tweeter, giving 100 Hz to 20 kHz of bandwidth from a single point source and wide, even coverage so fewer speakers are needed to fill a room.

A transformer tap selector allows the same speaker to be wired as an 8 ohm low-impedance unit or as part of a 70V or 100V distributed line system, with taps at 2.5W, 5W, 10W and 20W on 70V and 5W, 10W and 20W on 100V. Rated power is 30W RMS and 60W peak, with sensitivity of 86 dB SPL at 1 m.

The baffle is UL94-V0 rated ABS with a zinc-coated steel back can, which matters where life-safety announcements run through the same system. The magnetic grille is paintable so it disappears into the ceiling, and a cutout template plus a dog-leg mounting system make installation quick. Cutout diameter is 182 mm and the required clearance above the ceiling is 125 mm.
