Description

The AS108 is the largest ATEN ceiling loudspeaker, supplied in pairs, and is the one to reach for when a room is tall, wide or noisy. An 8-inch paper-cone driver with a rubber surround and heavy-duty voice coil is mounted coaxially with a 20 mm PEI dome tweeter, giving bandwidth from 65 Hz to 20 kHz from a single point source.

Rated power is 80W RMS and 160W peak at 90 dB SPL sensitivity. Transformer taps cover 10W, 20W, 40W and 80W on a 70V line and 20W, 40W and 80W on 100V, or the speaker can be wired as a conventional 8 ohm load.

As with the smaller models the baffle is UL94-V0 rated ABS on a zinc-plated steel back can, and the paintable magnetic grille and dog-leg mounting system keep installation simple. It needs a 271 mm cutout and 243 mm of clearance above the ceiling, so check the ceiling void before specifying.
