Vision TC3-CTL/2 Techconnect Control Module

The Techconnect Control Module is a wall-plate control panel that presents room users with the handful of functions they actually need, and hides everything else. Pressing ON can fire commands at several devices at once over infrared, RS-232 and a 12 volt trigger, so a projector, a display and a motorised screen all respond to a single button.

Programming is done either by learning IR codes directly at the module, by holding buttons 3 and 4 and pointing the original remote at the back, or through Vision's browser-based Techconnect Control software for the full set of options: multiple commands per button, delays on individual codes, simultaneous, sequential or repeat sending, and scheduled commands driven by the onboard clock. The clock keeps running if mains power is lost, which matters for the classic signage use case of shutting a display down every night.

The module carries two IR ports with emitters supplied, two RS-232 ports with Phoenix-to-RJ45 and RJ45-to-9-pin adaptors so serial can run over ordinary Cat5, and a 12 V trigger output for motorised screens. Buttons are backlit in a choice of red, green or blue, can beep on press, and arrive pre-labelled. A single-gang Techconnect backbox and surround are included. Note that the module sends IR and RS-232 but does not support RF, so screens whose own remotes are RF cannot be driven directly by IR. Vision covers it with a lifetime return-to-base warranty. It replaces the earlier TC3-CTL.
