The RLC-127 is the genuine ViewSonic replacement lamp module for the PX728-4K and PX748-4K projectors. ViewSonic lists it as the replacement part for both models in their published specifications.

Projector lamps are consumables — brightness falls away gradually over the life of the lamp long before it fails outright, so a projector that has dimmed noticeably is usually telling you the lamp is near the end of its rated hours rather than that anything is wrong with the projector. Fitting a genuine module keeps the colour balance and brightness where the projector was calibrated to sit.

The lamp arrives as a complete cage assembly rather than a bare bulb, so fitting is a matter of removing the lamp door, unscrewing the old module and sliding the new one in. Both host projectors have been retired from ViewSonic's current range, but the lamp remains available as a service part.
