Description
The ZRA-T1 is the sending half of Sony's optical extension pair for Crystal LED walls. It takes three RJ45 feeds from a ZRCT-300 controller and puts them onto multi-mode optical fibre through an SFP+ port, for a run of up to 300 m to a ZRA-R1 receiver at the wall.
In practice this is what lets the control rack live somewhere sensible. Copper limits force the controller close to the cabinets; fibre lets it sit in a comms room, a different floor, or the far side of an atrium, and sidesteps electrical interference over a long building run at the same time.
Each link carries up to 1920x1080, so four transmitter/receiver pairs are needed for a 4K wall. The unit matches its receiver at 110 x 142.5 x 33.5 mm and 610 g, and is powered over USB Type-C from a USB PD compliant adaptor. It supports the ZRD-B, ZRD-C, ZRD-BH and ZRD-CH cabinet series.
