Description
The ZRA-R1 is the receiving half of Sony's optical extension pair for Crystal LED walls. It takes the optical signal sent by a ZRA-T1 transmitter over multi-mode fibre and converts it back to three RJ45 outputs that feed the cabinets, at distances of up to 300 m.
That distance is the reason the pair exists. Copper runs between a ZRCT-300 controller and the wall are limited, and in real buildings the rack and the wall are often nowhere near each other - opposite ends of an atrium, different floors, a plant room feeding a lobby. Fibre removes that constraint and takes the electrical noise question off the table at the same time.
Each link carries up to 1920x1080, so a 4K wall needs four pairs. The unit is compact at 110 x 142.5 x 33.5 mm and 610 g, and is powered over USB Type-C from a USB PD compliant adaptor. It supports the ZRD-B, ZRD-C, ZRD-BH and ZRD-CH cabinet series with the ZRCT-300 controller.
