Description

XS Wireless 1 is the entry point into Sennheiser's professional wireless range, and the ME2 set is the lavalier configuration: a stationary receiver, a lightweight bodypack transmitter and an unobtrusive omnidirectional clip-on microphone. It is aimed at presenters and moderators who want a system that works without a sound engineer standing behind them.

Setup is deliberately blunt: automatic frequency management scans for a clear channel and the transmitter is synchronised over a remote channel, so there is no manual frequency matching. Antenna-switching diversity reception with integrated antennas keeps the link stable in a room full of bodies, and up to ten compatible channels can run together.

This system is the A band, 548.000 - 572.000 MHz. Wireless microphone systems are sold per frequency band and the band is fixed in the hardware. Confirm the band suits your UK licensing position before ordering — Sennheiser states that use is subject to local RF regulations, which in the UK means holding the appropriate Ofcom PMSE licence for the range you intend to use, or working only within a licence-exempt range.
