Sennheiser EW-D SK (Q1-6) Digital Wireless Bodypack Transmitter

The EW-D SK is a bodypack transmitter on its own, not a complete system. It is the part you buy when you already have an EW-D receiver and want to add a channel, or when you need a spare belt pack for an existing installation. A microphone and a receiver are both needed before it will do anything.

It accepts Sennheiser headset and clip-on microphones and transmits digitally in the UHF spectrum with a 134 dB audio input dynamic range, so there is no sensitivity to set. Setup and management run through the EW-D Smart Assist app over Bluetooth Low Energy, and auto scan finds a clean frequency. Intermodulation is eliminated, which allows channels on an equidistant 600 kHz grid — 56 MHz of tuning bandwidth and 2,240 selectable frequencies give up to 90 channels. Two supplied AA cells give up to eight hours, or up to twelve on the optional lithium-ion pack.

This item is the Q1-6 band, 470.200 - 526.000 MHz. Wireless microphone systems are sold per frequency band and the band is fixed in the hardware. Confirm the band suits your UK licensing position before ordering — Sennheiser states that use is subject to local RF regulations, which in the UK means holding the appropriate Ofcom PMSE licence for the range you intend to use, or working only within a licence-exempt range. It must also match the band of the EW-D receiver it is paired with.
