Description

The EF-21G is the green finish of Epson's EF-21 mini laser projector: a 2.3kg cube that puts a 30 to 150-inch picture on a wall from a short distance and runs its own apps, with no source device required. Google TV is built in, with Chromecast and Google search on board.

Picture comes from 3LCD with a laser light source rated at 1,000 lumens of both white and colour light output, which is the specification that matters for a projector expected to hold colour saturation in a room that is not fully blacked out. Contrast is quoted at 5,000,000:1 and the throw ratio of 1.00-1.82:1 puts a 60-inch image at about 1.33m.

Setup is automatic: keystone correction, focus by motor, and instant on/off. A 5W stereo speaker and an HDMI ARC port let it act as the only box in a small room, and Epson covers it with a 60-month carry-in warranty or 12,000 hours, whichever comes first.
