Description
The Optoma ML1050STi is an ultra-compact short throw LED projector, replacing the ML1050ST+ with added features including RS232 control. At 420g it suits presenting on the move, casual home viewing and hidden installations that need remote control.
Resolution is WXGA 1280x800 with 1,000 lumens (535 ANSI) and a 20,000:1 contrast ratio. The fixed 0.8:1 short throw lens produces a 50 to 100 inch image from 0.86m to 1.72m, so it works in small rooms where a standard throw projector would not fit.
It can present without a laptop using built-in memory, a media player and a Native Office Viewer, reading files from microSD or USB. Wireless sharing is available through the Display Share app, and auto focus sets the image sharpness.
The LED light source is rated for 20,000 hours and the unit runs quietly at 22dB to 29dB.
Note the 535 ANSI lumen figure is the meaningful comparison against conventional projectors, so controlled lighting suits it best.
