Description

BrightSign XT5 is the Series 5 flagship digital signage player, described by BrightSign as 'Our most flexible, high-performance player'.

BrightSign states the XT5 elevates signage experiences and reliably replaces PCs with a blend of motion graphics power, cutting-edge video performance and connections that maximize efficiency.

It decodes a single 8K 60p 10-bit stream or dual 4K 60p 10-bit streams, and supports HDR10, HLG and Rec.2020/BT.2020, 4K video rotation and 4K full-resolution images and graphics.

The player is powered over Ethernet (PoE+ Gigabit) and has an integrated Neural Processing Unit (NPU) for AI workloads.

Housed in an ultra-thin anodized aluminium enclosure with built-in wall mounting, it measures 238.62 x 185.90 x 19.19 mm and weighs 0.68 kg (1.41 kg shipping).

XT1145 is the Expanded I/O package version of the XT5. BrightSign describes it as enabling 'live video playback via an HDMI input' and expanding 'engagement options with USB and serial connections. Power the player and peripherals via PoE+.'

Its HTML5 performance level is rated by BrightSign as 'Intense graphics, video and live TV'.

The HDMI input is HDMI 2.0a and supports 4K; BrightSign notes that HDCP support on the HDMI input is 'coming soon in a future BrightSignOS update'. BrightSign also names the XT1145 as the recommended replacement for the Series 4 XT1144, which reached end of production on 1 March 2025 and is supported until 1 March 2030.
