Description
The ATEN VE805R is an HDBaseT receiver for sending HDMI over structured cabling. It replaces a long, lossy HDMI run with ordinary Cat 5e/6 between the source rack and the display, which is what makes lecture theatres, boardrooms and digital signage practical to wire.
Video is carried at up to 1080p @60m (Cat 5e/6). Control passes down the same cable, so IR and RS-232 from the head end still reach the display.
It scales incoming video to the display native resolution, which avoids the black screen you get when a source and a panel disagree. Housing is metal. Supplied to order from TopAV with ATEN's 36-month warranty.

Allows you to connect to serial terminals or serial devices, such as touch screens and barcode scanners.
