Description

The Sony VPLL-Z3032 is a genuine Sony projection lens for the VPL-F series installation projectors. It covers a throw ratio of 3.18:1 to 4.84:1, so the projector can be positioned at the distance the room actually allows rather than the distance a fixed lens would dictate.

Zoom and focus are powered, with up to 60% vertical and +/- 32% horizontal shift available. Lens shift lets the projector sit off the screen centre line - tucked above a ceiling void or behind a bulkhead - without resorting to keystone correction, which always costs resolution. This is the long end of the VPLL-Z30 family. It is the lens for a projector in a rear projection room, a balcony position or a bio-box - anywhere the throw distance is several times the screen width. Screen coverage runs from 40 to 600 inches.

Sony supplies its VPL installation projectors as a body plus a separately chosen lens, so the same chassis can be dropped into a lecture theatre, a boardroom or an atrium and still hit the screen exactly. Choosing the lens is therefore part of the room design, not an afterthought.
