Description

The SRG-A12 is one of Sony's PTZ Auto Framing cameras, which do the operator's job in software. Sony's AI analytics track the subject and reframe the shot continuously, so a lecture, a briefing or a hybrid meeting keeps a well-composed picture without anyone on the camera.

It uses a 1/2.5-type Exmor R CMOS sensor with a 12x optical zoom (f = 4.4 to 52.8 mm, 26.8-322.8 mm in 35 mm terms) and works down to 1.6 lux. Streaming is H.264 or H.265 with NDI|HX capability, controlled over HTTP, HTTPS or VISCA over IP, and 256 preset positions are available over CGI. A frame and area indicator shows what the tracking is doing, which makes the behaviour predictable to configure.

Power is DC 19.5 V or PoE++ (IEEE 802.3bt Type 4 Class 8), so a single Cat cable can carry both power and video where the switch supports it. The camera is approximately 156.7 x 184.0 x 200.0 mm and 2.0 kg, and ships with an AC adaptor, RMT-RC2 remote commander, ceiling brackets and wire rope.
