Description
The BRC-X400 is Sony's mainstream premium PTZ camera and the one that suits the widest range of rooms. A 1/2.5-type Exmor R CMOS sensor gives 4K30p, and Clear Image Zoom takes the optical range out to 30x at 4K or 40x at HD - up to 80x in HD with Tele Convert - so a single camera at the back of a lecture theatre can hold both a wide shot and a usable close-up.
It streams over IP in H.264 or H.265 at up to 60 fps and up to 50 Mbps, with NDI|HX available under a separate licence, and outputs 4K over HDMI or HD over 3G-SDI at the same time. PTZ Motion Sync moves pan, tilt and zoom together so preset recalls look deliberate rather than mechanical, and 256 presets are available over CGI.
Two 3.5 mm mic/line inputs embed audio into both the baseband and IP streams. Control is over VISCA RS-422, VISCA over IP or S700PTP. The camera is 158.4 x 177.5 x 200.2 mm and about 1.8 kg, powered by DC 12 V or PoE+, and ships with an AC adaptor, IR remote commander, ceiling brackets and wire rope.
