Description

The ME 3 is Sennheiser's cardioid headworn microphone for use with its wireless bodypack transmitters. The cardioid pattern is the reason to choose it over an omnidirectional headset: it rejects more of the room and more of the foldback, which buys gain before feedback in a live space.

It handles up to 150 dB SPL, so a raised voice at close range does not overload it, and the response runs from 50 Hz to 18 kHz. The microphone terminates in a 3.5 mm mini-jack on a 1.6 m cable and is powered from the bodypack, which supplies 10 V.

The transmitter is a separate purchase; the ME 3 is also supplied as part of Sennheiser's EW-D ME3 sets. Sennheiser's standard warranty is two years.
