Description

The R500s is Logitech's mainstream presenter: a slim, light remote with a red laser pointer and the three controls a speaker actually uses - forward, back and blank screen. It is the model to buy when the job is simply advancing slides reliably from anywhere in a room.

It connects two ways. Bluetooth Low Energy pairs directly with a laptop and leaves the USB port free; alternatively the supplied plug-and-forget USB receiver works on any machine including ones where Bluetooth is locked down. Range is up to 20 m, which covers most meeting rooms and lecture theatres.

Power is two AAA batteries with a rated life of about twelve months, and an intuitive button layout means it can be operated by feel while facing the audience. The receiver stows inside the remote for transport.
