Description

The EB-W53 is Epson's entry WXGA meeting-room and classroom projector, and the specification that separates it from cheaper single-chip alternatives is 4,000 lumens of colour light output as well as 4,000 lumens white. On 3LCD the two figures are equal, so a chart or a photograph holds its saturation in a room with the blinds up.

Native resolution is WXGA at 16:10 with a 16,000:1 contrast ratio and a 1.27-2.54:1 throw ratio, giving a 60-inch image at about 1.64m and a maximum image of 375 inches. Two HDMI inputs support split-screen so two sources can be shown side by side without a switcher.

Practical detail matters at this end of the range: auto power-on starts the projector when it sees a signal, auto source search finds the live input, and the UHE lamp is rated at 6,000 hours normal or 12,000 hours in economy mode. The chassis is 302 x 237 x 82mm and 2.5kg, with a 24-month carry-in warranty.
