BrightSign LS5 is the Series 5 entry-level digital signage player, described by BrightSign as an 'Entry-level player for essential signage needs.'
BrightSign states the LS5 delivers essential digital signage capabilities with flawless video quality, core motion graphics and basic interactivity via USB-C, all within an ultra-compact, energy-efficient design, making it an easy choice to replace simple PC-based solutions.
The player has an integrated Neural Processing Unit (NPU) and supports 4K IP streaming.
Interactivity and expansion are handled through a single USB-C port that supports both device and host mode and BrightSign's custom cable solutions (USB-C to GPIO, USB-C to USB-A plus 3.5mm serial, and USB-C to IR).
The compact chassis measures 126.6 x 141.84 x 19.41 mm and the player weighs 0.18 kg.
LS445 is the 4K model of the LS5 pair. BrightSign describes it as one that 'Advances video capabilities to 4K resolution.'
4K video decoding is 8-bit at 60p or 10-bit at 30p; 4K video codecs are H.265 at 60p and H.264 at 30p.
Its HDMI output is 4K, and it supports all common screen resolutions up to 4K plus additional and customizable display resolutions with unique aspect ratios.
