A 43-inch 4K commercial display rated for 24/7 operation, with 500 nits of brightness, Android 14 on 8GB of RAM and one USB-C input that carries video, data and 65W of charge.

TopAV buying advice

Is the ViewSonic CDE4331-1C right for your meeting room?

For a small room where content runs all day and nobody needs to touch the screen.

Shortlist this for a huddle room, a small meeting room or an always-on information screen viewed from close range. It plays scheduled content from its own Android platform, so a room with no PC of its own can still show something useful. Measure the furthest seat before committing to 43 inches: detailed spreadsheets stop being legible sooner than the room's seating capacity suggests.

Reasons to shortlist it

  • 500 nits of brightness with an anti-glare coating, so content stays legible in a room with daylight rather than only with the blinds down.
  • Rated for 24/7 operation, so a playlist can run overnight and at weekends instead of the screen being switched off and restarted every morning.
  • Android 14 with 8GB of RAM and 32GB of storage on board, so a playlist or dashboard runs from the display itself with no external media player to buy, power and patch.
  • Three HDMI 2.1 inputs plus one USB-C that carries video, data and 65W of charge, so a room PC, a visitor laptop and a spare source can all stay connected, and the two 16W speakers cover video playback without a soundbar.
  • At 43 inches the 3840x2160 pixels sit in a small area, so small text holds up at short viewing distances. This is a screen for a short room, not a long one.

Check before you choose

  • This is not a touch display. There is no touch layer, no pen and no annotation. If people need to write on the screen, choose an interactive panel instead.
  • Budget separately for the mount, the fixings, the cable route and installation. The price covers the display only.
  • Decide whether the built-in Android is enough or you need an external player. It handles USB playback and common signage apps, but a corporate content system, a Windows application or a video-wall processor may still need a separate player, and this size has no slot-in PC bay.

See the 43" on your wall, to scale

On a phone, point your camera at the wall and see the 43" there at its real size. On a computer, upload a photo of the wall (or scan the QR code to take one with your phone and it will appear here) and drag the display around it to scale.

Not sure 43" is the right size for the room? The screen size calculator shows how far a 43" display carries for presentations, touch work and video.

What to plan before installing the CDE4331-1C

01

Size and sightlines

Measure the longest viewing distance and the smallest text people must read, and decide now whether the screen hangs in landscape or portrait.

02

Mount and power

Check the wall construction and mounting height, and plan a power socket and a network drop behind the screen rather than beside it. ViewSonic lists a 200 x 200 mm VESA pattern.

03

Content and installation

Decide what drives the screen day to day, and tell us if you need mounting, cabling or a separate player quoted with it.

Display price is for the panel. Installation and optional equipment are quoted separately. Purchase-order terms are available to approved education customers.

Build a quote you can compare

Include these details in your project enquiry so the quote covers the room as well as the screen.

  • Number of displays, site postcode and required date.
  • Furthest viewing distance and available wall space.
  • Wall type, fixed mount or adjustable trolley, and cable routes.
  • Laptop model, teaching apps, and any camera or Windows PC needs.

Ask for separate equipment, delivery, installation and licence costs, with a total including VAT. Confirm warranty coverage and any registration requirements before placing the order.

What else the CDE4331-1C needs

The price above is for the display on its own. A wall mount or trolley is a separate purchase, and installation is quoted per site. Add what you need here and it joins the same basket.

ViewSonic CDE4331-1C questions answered

Is the ViewSonic CDE4331-1C a touch screen?

No. It is a non-touch commercial display for presenting and signage. ViewSonic's specification lists no touch layer, no touch points and no pen, so annotation on the glass is not possible. An interactive panel is the right product if people need to write on the screen.

Who is the ViewSonic CDE4331-1C best suited to?

Consider it for a huddle room, small meeting room or reception information screen viewed from close range. Check that the smallest text you need is readable from the furthest seat before choosing 43 inches; a longer room needs a larger panel.

Can it be left switched on continuously?

Yes. ViewSonic rates it for 24/7 operation, so it is built to run unattended overnight and at weekends rather than being limited to office hours. Confirm your own schedule and power arrangements as part of the installation.

Does it need a separate media player or PC?

Not for straightforward signage. It runs Android 14 with 8GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, and plays media from USB with automatic failover to another input if the primary source drops. A corporate content-management system, a Windows application or a video wall may still need an external player, so check your content stack before ordering.

Can I connect a laptop with a single USB-C cable?

Yes. The USB-C input carries video, data and up to 65W of charge over one cable. Your laptop and cable must support those functions, and a laptop that needs more than 65W will still want its own charger.

How many HDMI inputs does the CDE4331-1C have?

Three HDMI 2.1 inputs, on the rear, with ARC on the first one. There is also an HDMI output for feeding a second screen, plus the USB-C input, so a fixed source and a guest source can stay connected at the same time.

Can it be mounted in portrait?

Yes. ViewSonic lists it for landscape and portrait, so it suits a portrait welcome board as well as a landscape meeting-room screen. Confirm the orientation before installation, because the mount and the cable route differ.

Are the built-in speakers enough, or do I need external audio?

Two 16W speakers are built in, which covers video and announcements in a small room. A larger or noisier space, or anything where speech intelligibility matters, should be quoted with external audio; the display has 3.5mm and S/PDIF outputs for that.

Should I choose the 43-inch CDE4331-1C or the 55-inch CDE5531-1C?

Choose by viewing distance and the smallest text people must read, not by room capacity. ViewSonic lists both at 3840x2160, 500 nits, 24/7 operation, 8GB of RAM and one 65W USB-C input, so the 55-inch model is the same display in a larger panel; it gives you no extra pixels, only more area. Use the screen-size calculator and check the available wall before deciding.

Is the advertised price a complete installed package?

No. The price is for the display. Ask for an itemised quote covering the mount, fixings, cabling, any external player and installation, and compare the total including VAT and delivery.
