Description

The BRC-X1000 is the 4K member of Sony's premium PTZ family, pairing a 1.0-type back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensor with 4K30p capture and a 12x optical zoom. It is the camera to specify where the larger sensor matters - low light, shallow depth of field, broadcast-grade colour - and where the programme needs 4K rather than HD.

It resolves 1800 TV lines at the centre through 3G-SDI and works down to 1.7 lux. For 4K it offers Dual Link 3G-SDI (2SI) across two outputs plus HDMI; in HD it provides four 3G-SDI outputs plus HDMI, which is enough to feed a mixer, a monitor and a record chain at once. Pan is +/-170 degrees, tilt +90 to -30 degrees, with 100 stored presets.

Control is over VISCA RS-422 or VISCA over IP, so it sits alongside other Sony BRC cameras under an RM-IP500 or RM-IP10 panel. Power is DC 12 V or PoE+. The body matches the BRC-H800 at 198 x 260 x 238 mm and about 4.3 kg, and ships with a ceiling bracket, wire rope and IR remote commander.

Key features

4K30p from a 1.0-type sensor

A large back-illuminated Exmor R sensor capturing 4K, for low-light performance a small-sensor PTZ cannot match.

Four HD SDI outputs

Four 3G-SDI outputs plus HDMI in HD, or Dual Link 3G-SDI plus HDMI in 4K, feeding several destinations at once.

12x optical zoom

f = 9.3 to 111.6 mm with 1800 TV lines of centre resolution through the SDI output.

VISCA over IP control

Drops into an existing Sony robotic camera system under an RM-IP500 or RM-IP10 controller.
