Description

This is the white-bodied version of the BRC-H800, Sony's premium Full HD PTZ camera, built around a 1.0-type back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensor - a far larger sensor than the 1/2.5-type used in most PTZ cameras. That is what the camera is for: low-light performance and shallow depth of field that hold up on a broadcast or streamed programme, rather than a wide-angle view of a meeting room.

It has a 12x optical zoom (f = 9.3 to 111.6 mm), resolves 850 TV lines at the centre through its 3G-SDI output, and works down to 1.7 lux. Pan range is +/-170 degrees with tilt from +90 to -30 degrees, and 100 preset positions are stored on board. Two 3G-SDI outputs plus HDMI feed a vision mixer and a confidence monitor at the same time.

Control is over VISCA RS-422 or VISCA over IP, so it drops into an existing Sony robotic camera system - a single RM-IP500 controller can address up to 100 cameras over IP. Power is DC 12 V or PoE+, which keeps a ceiling or wall install to one cable. The body is 198 x 260 x 238 mm and about 4.3 kg, and ships with a ceiling bracket, wire rope and IR remote commander.

Key features

1.0-type Exmor R sensor

A much larger sensor than typical PTZ cameras use, for cleaner low-light images and shallower depth of field.

12x optical zoom

f = 9.3 to 111.6 mm covering wide establishing shots through to tight close-ups from a fixed position.

Dual 3G-SDI plus HDMI

Two SDI outputs and HDMI, so a mixer feed and a monitor feed can run simultaneously.

VISCA over IP control

Integrates with Sony RM-IP500 and RM-IP10 controllers over IP or RS-422 for multi-camera operation.
