Description

SpeechLine Digital Wireless is Sennheiser's speech-only wireless range, and this set is the handheld configuration supplied ready to rack. The -R suffix is the important part of the model number: it means the rackmount version, which comes with everything needed to install the receiver in a rack. The -C sets are the transport-case alternative for people who do not want to install the receiver.

The handheld carries the MME 865 supercardioid condenser capsule, chosen because it is a speech capsule rather than a general-purpose vocal one. Automatic frequency and interference management means the system finds and holds its own link, transmission is protected with 256-bit AES encryption, and the whole set can be monitored and controlled remotely. The supplied rechargeable pack runs for up to fifteen hours and charges over USB with the cable in the box.

This set operates at 1880 - 1900 MHz. Wireless microphone systems are sold per frequency band and the band is fixed in the hardware. Confirm the band suits your UK licensing position before ordering — Sennheiser states that use is subject to local RF regulations, which in the UK means holding the appropriate Ofcom PMSE licence for the range you intend to use, or working only within a licence-exempt range.
