Description

The EW-DX SKM is the handheld half of an Evolution Wireless Digital system. It uses the Sennheiser standard capsule interface, so it takes a wide range of Sennheiser and Neumann microphone modules — none of which are included here. This is the version without a switch, which is the one to specify when you do not want performers or presenters able to mute the microphone themselves.

The input stage handles a 145 dB dynamic range, so there is no gain to set on the transmitter and the SePAC codec keeps the wireless latency down to 1.9 ms. A persistent E-Ink display continues to show channel and battery information with the cells removed, and function buttons on the body give access to digital audio trim, a switchable low cut, a test tone generator and a button lock. Charging contacts on the housing suit the CHG 70N, L 70 USB and LM 6070 chargers, all sold separately.

This item is the R1-9 band, 520.000 - 607.800 MHz. Wireless microphone systems are sold per frequency band and the band is fixed in the hardware. Confirm the band suits your UK licensing position before ordering — Sennheiser states that use is subject to local RF regulations, which in the UK means holding the appropriate Ofcom PMSE licence for the range you intend to use, or working only within a licence-exempt range. It also has to match the band of the EW-DX receiver it is paired with.
