Sennheiser EW-DX 835-S Set (S1-10) Two-Channel Digital Wireless Handheld System

This is a full system rather than a bare transmitter. Sennheiser supplies the set with two EW-DX SKM-S handheld transmitters with mute switch, two MMD 835 dynamic cardioid capsules, one EW-DX EM 2 two-channel rack-mounting receiver and two BA 70 rechargeable batteries — everything needed to put two microphones on air.

The MMD 835 head carries the sound of the wired e 835, which is why this set tends to end up in front of singers and presenters rather than in a boardroom. The EM 2 receiver is network enabled for remote control through Sennheiser Control Cockpit and Wireless System Manager, works with SoundBase, and supports AES-256 and Dante media encryption. AutoScan finds and deploys equidistant frequencies without the operator needing RF expertise, and the transmitters can also be set from the Smart Assist app over Bluetooth LE at up to 25 metres.

Standard Mode gives 600 kHz channel spacing for up to 146 channels and Link Density Mode 300 kHz spacing for up to 293, across up to 88 MHz of switching bandwidth. This set is the S1-10 band, 606.200 - 693.800 MHz. Wireless microphone systems are sold per frequency band and the band is fixed in the hardware. Confirm the band suits your UK licensing position before ordering — Sennheiser states that use is subject to local RF regulations, which in the UK means holding the appropriate Ofcom PMSE licence for the range you intend to use, or working only within a licence-exempt range.
