Description

The Surface Hub Smart Camera is Microsoft's magnetically attached room camera for Surface Hub. Microsoft has dropped the '2' from the name — it is now simply the Surface Hub Smart Camera — and it is the camera supplied with both sizes of Surface Hub 3 as well as being sold separately for Surface Hub 2S.A 12MP sensor sits behind an eleven-element fixed-focus glass lens giving more than 136 degrees of horizontal field of view and a 1.0 to 7.4 metre working distance, so a whole table stays in frame without panning. Framing, auto exposure, auto white balance and anti-flicker are handled on the camera itself by an Intel Myriad X 2085 vision processor with roughly a teraflop of neural acceleration, and Cloud IntelliFrame adds per-person framing when running Teams Rooms.It clips break-away magnetically to the top of the Hub bezel on a customised USB-C connector, tilts 20 degrees either side of horizontal with de-warping that adapts to the angle, and updates its firmware through Windows Update. The anodised aluminium body is plain platinum with a single white status LED and no buttons, and a magnetic privacy cover is supplied. Cover is a one-year limited hardware warranty.
