It is sold separately because the controller is the part of a corded headset that fails first: it is what gets stood on, rolled over by a chair and pulled out of the port. Replacing the controller costs considerably less than replacing the whole headset, and it means an existing Evolve 30 II can stay in service. Jabra also sells the matching replacement headset separately. This item is the MS variant with a USB-A connector; USB-C versions are also made.
