Description
The EF-21W is the white finish of Epson's EF-21 mini laser projector, and adds Bluetooth to the interface list. It is a 2.3kg cube that throws a 30 to 150-inch picture and runs Google TV on board, with Chromecast and Google search built in, so it works as a standalone device rather than a monitor for something else.
The optical engine is 3LCD with a laser light source rated at 1,000 lumens of both white and colour light output. Equal colour brightness is what stops saturated content going grey in a room with some ambient light. Contrast is quoted at 5,000,000:1, and a 1.00-1.82:1 throw ratio puts a 60-inch image at roughly 1.33m.
Motorised focus and automatic keystone correction handle setup, and instant on/off removes the lamp warm-up cycle. A 5W stereo speaker, HDMI ARC and Bluetooth cover audio. Epson's warranty is 60 months carry-in or 12,000 hours, whichever comes first.
