Description

A single-port 802.3af PoE injector that powers a Crestron or third-party device over its existing network cable.

The injector adds 802.3af power to an ordinary Ethernet run, so a panel, access point or camera can be fed from an existing switch that does not supply power itself. Data and power leave on a single Cat5/6 run, removing the need for a mains socket and a local power supply at the device position.

A tri-colour indicator distinguishes an idle port, a PoE device correctly drawing power, and a non-PoE device that has been plugged into the powered port by mistake. The injector can be sited anywhere convenient up to 100 m from the powered device, so it can live in the rack rather than near the equipment. Specifications on this page are taken from Crestron's published documentation for this part number.

Key features

Power where there is no PoE switch

The injector adds 802.3af power to an ordinary Ethernet run, so a panel, access point or camera can be fed from an existing switch that does not supply power itself.

One cable to the device

Data and power leave on a single Cat5/6 run, removing the need for a mains socket and a local power supply at the device position.

Diagnostic LED

A tri-colour indicator distinguishes an idle port, a PoE device correctly drawing power, and a non-PoE device that has been plugged into the powered port by mistake.

Full-length cable runs

The injector can be sited anywhere convenient up to 100 m from the powered device, so it can live in the rack rather than near the equipment.
