Description

Cisco's multi-head presentation cable ends the dongle hunt in a meeting room. One cable runs from the room device to the table and splits into three heads - HDMI type A, Mini DisplayPort and USB-C - so almost any laptop brought into the room can share content without an adapter and without anyone unplugging the room's own cabling to try.

It carries audio as well as video from the laptop into the Cisco endpoint, and is rated to a maximum of 4K (4096 x 2160) at 30fps. On the USB-C head the laptop has to support DisplayPort alternate mode, and Cisco is explicit that the cable must be plugged directly into the device and directly into the laptop - putting a dongle in between is not supported.

Cisco lists the multi-head cables as compatible with the Webex Room Series and Board Series, including Room Kit, Room Kit Mini, Room Kit Plus, Room Kit Pro, Codec Plus, Codec Pro, Room 55, Room 55 Dual, Room 70, Room 70 G2, Room Panorama, Board 55S/70S/85S and Board Pro 55/75.

This is the 2.5 metre version, with a slimmer 6.5 mm cable diameter and a weight of 220 g - the length to specify for a table-edge or credenza connection close to the device.
