Description

The LW650 is BenQ's laser meeting-room projector, and the reason to choose it over a lamp equivalent is that the light source is rated at 20,000 hours in every mode — no lamp orders, no scheduled access, no gradual dimming halfway through a warranty. It puts 4,000 ANSI lumens onto a native 1280 x 800 panel at 16:10.

The connector that matters is USB Type-C with DisplayPort Alt Mode and 5V/1A power delivery: a modern laptop connects with the cable it already carries, and the projector supplies power over the same lead. Two HDMI 2.0b inputs with HDCP 2.2 handle everything else, and a second USB Type A port takes an optional EZC-5201BS Wi-Fi dongle for wireless presentation.

Contrast is quoted at 3,000,000:1 with 90% Rec.709 coverage, and input lag drops to 8.3ms at 1080p 120Hz. Automatic 2D keystone correction of ±30 degrees on both axes handles off-axis mounting, and SmartEco mode saves up to 70% of power. The body is 303.5 x 112.4 x 224.7mm and 2.9kg.

Key features

USB-C with DisplayPort Alt Mode

One cable carries video and 5V/1A power to a modern laptop, removing the adapter from the meeting-room table.

20,000-hour laser light source

Rated at 20,000 hours in normal, eco and SmartEco modes, so there is no lamp to replace over the life of the install.

Optional wireless presentation

A dedicated USB Type A port takes BenQ's EZC-5201BS 1080p dongle for cable-free presenting.

Automatic 2D keystone

Corrects ±30 degrees vertically and horizontally, squaring the picture up from an off-axis mount.
