Description

The LU785 is BenQ's WUXGA laser installation projector for lecture theatres, large meeting rooms and auditoria — rooms where a lamp change means booking access and a ladder. The laser light source is rated at 20,000 hours in normal mode, 38,000 in eco and 70,000 with dimming, which in practice removes consumables from the maintenance schedule for the life of the install.

Output is 6,000 ANSI lumens at native 1920 x 1200 with a 3,000,000:1 contrast ratio and 96% Rec.709 coverage. The 1.15-1.9:1 zoom range at 1.65x is wide for an installation projector and gives real freedom over mount position, with a 115% offset plus vertical lens shift of +10%/-2% and horizontal ±2.5%.

The connector panel reflects the installation brief: three HDMI inputs (one MHL), D-sub in and monitor out, composite, LAN for control and monitoring, 3D sync out, USB Type A with 1.5A power, RS232 and a 3.5mm audio pair. It weighs 11.3kg at 360 x 164 x 453mm and takes an optional anti-dust filter.
