Description

The ATEN SN0108COD is an 8-port serial console server. It aggregates the RS-232 management ports of switches, routers, firewalls, UPS units and headless servers onto one appliance, so those consoles can be reached over the network or, when the network is down, through the out-of-band path.

The unit is a 1U rack appliance, with dual DC power inlets and dual LAN so a single failure does not take out access to the whole rack. Access is authenticated locally or against an external directory, and sessions can be logged for audit.

Each port is auto-sensing RJ-45, and a laptop USB console port lets an engineer connect directly at the rack. Supplied to order from TopAV with ATEN's 36-month warranty.
