Description

The ATEN KN1000A is a single-port KVM over IP adapter that retrofits browser-based remote access to one server, or to an existing KVM switch that has no over-IP console of its own. Rather than replacing working hardware to gain remote hands, the KN1000A sits in front of it and publishes that one console to the network.

The unit provides an SPHD computer port and a matching local console port, a Laptop USB Console (LUC) mini-B port for direct connection from a technician's laptop, and RS-232 for serial devices. Keyboard and mouse emulation covers USB and PS/2, and video is carried at up to 1920 x 1200 @ 60 Hz. A built-in single-port power switch is included: an IEC C14 inlet feeds an IEC C13 outlet rated to 9 A, so the attached machine can be power-cycled from the same web session that manages its console.

At 31.0 x 8.39 x 4.20 cm and 0.88 kg it is small enough to sit behind the device it serves. Operating temperature is 0-40 degrees C and the housing is metal. ATEN provides a three-year warranty. This item is available to order from TopAV.
