Description

The ATEN KE8950T is the transmitter half of ATEN's KVM over IP extender family, carrying video, keyboard, mouse, audio and serial data from a source computer to an operator position across ordinary Gigabit Ethernet rather than a dedicated cable run. Because the link is IP-based, distance stops being a limit: the transmitter can sit in a control room, a production floor office or a separate building, and the machine it works with stays locked away in a rack.

Video is handled at 3840 x 2160 @ 60Hz (4:2:0), 3840 x 2160 @ 30 Hz (4:4:4) with switching latency quoted at < 5ms. The console side presents 2 x USB Type A Female (White), 1 x HDMI Female (Black), 1 x Mini Stereo Jack (Green), 1 x Mini Stereo Jack (Pink). On the computer side you get 1 x USB Type B Female (White), 1 x HDMI Female (Black), 1 x Mini Stereo Jack (Green), 1 x Mini Stereo Jack (Pink). Networking is via 1 x RJ-45 (Black), 1 x SFP Slot, so a fibre module can replace copper where the run is long or electrically noisy.

Units in this range interoperate as a point-to-point pair or as part of a larger matrix managed by ATEN's CCKM control centre software, so a two-desk installation can grow without replacing the endpoints.
